I'm about to go for a swim. I haven't been in ages but the last time I went I swam a mile.

Interestingly 2 men I have been speaking with recently can't swim. Can you swim? How far?

Yea, I'm into swimming at the moment, doing about 45 mins 3 or 4 times a week. I'll get bored with it eventually I suspect, but it's quite good for thinking time.

No i cant swim, i have a real phobia of water, my sister used to take my kids to swimming lessons for me as i cant even sit at the side of the pool, i have tried in the past to over come this by booking myself into adult swimming lessons but i just cant do it, i actually stated crying when the instructor tried to get me into the water on my first lesson, felt a twat and never went back, i cant explain the feeling the thought of going in gives me, its real genuine fear, like someone asking you to walk over the edge of a cliff and when you get to the edge you just can't take the last step that takes you over

I've been swimming now for over a year as part of my regime, managing 3/4 times a week an average of 50/60 lengths every time.

Dropped a dress size, got great shoulders and it's kind of keeping the rest in a northbound position too.

Keep swimming, you won't regret it, but it does play havoc which the hair,

A tip

Put conditioner on it before you get in the water and it'll help stop the Chlorine from drying it out.

Most of all ...... Enjoy!!

There's a great set of products from Boots called 'Swim, Sun and Gym' or something similar with goo you can apply before swimming and stuff to get chlorine out after. Good price too. I'm getting that 'surfers blond' from all the chlorine but I quite like the look!

I usually do a mile in about 35 mins. Then get distracted by the women. Unfortunately not had any fun after, yet. Lol.

I do 30 at the moment (aiming to improve) in our lovely open air lido. It's 33 metres, so I throw on a couple of extra lengths (oo'er missus) for luck and it's a kilometre of front crawl I can manage.

In a pool, I can swim until I get bored and slowly. I'm open water if a shark was chasing, I'd rival Michael Phelps

I can swim but my technique is rubbish and I can't go for long, not unlikely bedroom technique. ?? Much prefer being in the gym, looking out over the pool at the lovely sights in bikinis!

I'm OK at breaststroke ( ) although I do one stroke underwater then breathe.

Frontcrawl I'm rubbish at but really want to improve. I've thought about swimming lessons.

It's about 74 in an Olympic sized pool I believe.

Yeah...i'm a hairdresser and swimming is THE single worst thing I do to my hair, but I love how relaxed it makes me feel and yet energised at the same time. plus being a fat fuck it's one of the few things I can do without damaging my joints!

Can anyone here own up to saving a life by diving in some water whilst wearing their PJ's?

A real life, not the life of a rubber brick at the bottom of a swimming pool?

near kings lynn

5k was my furthest swim. But then I was also part of a team that also swam an additional 5k. So all in all I probably did 6k.

Couldn't do it now but still live swimming

"Can anyone here own up to saving a life by diving in some water whilst wearing their PJ's?"

Haha yes! I got my bronze sub aqua club badge. That also involved a one mile swim in open water. Fortunately it was the Indian ocean!

I used to swim every single day of my childhood but hardly ever go nowadays. It's the whole hair, coats, jeans, freezing outside stuff that puts me off. I'm more of a dry off in the tropical sun before lying in it for a few more hours kinda girl

i used to swim a mile every morning prekids - in the pool 7.30 am before work - kept it going as much as possible - kids are both great swimmers and always liked to go to swim rather than muck about - my back now prevents me from going -
