"I hope he makes some sort of recovery. My all time fav racing driver "
He's not mine, but it must be such a massive relief for all of his family. Was only thinking of him the other day as there hadnt been any news for a while.
At the time i didnt think he would make it but so glad he is now out of coma |

While not my favourite driver, fantastic news to hear he is recovering. Albite slowly, and has a long road in front of him. The support of his family and friends will help as well as the kind words of fans around the world will keep his spirits up
Unlikely that it will be this year but hopefully the first race near to where he is next season, will he his aim I'd have thought to be there in some way to show his thanks to everyone |

what about Mansell? He's got to be mine"
My ex was a marketing manager with Williams years ago. Mansell was at her house for a BBQ one eve. Lovely fella and I loved his never say die attitude when driving... but I admired Schuies racing ability and how he got his cars so perfectly set up for his type of racing. His attention to detail and fitness changed F1.
I hope we see him walk and talk again soon. One thing that would be sad is if he recovers but has lost his memory of all the races and wins he had. |

It was reported middle of last week that he was out of the coma but his doctors were saying that sadly that maybe as far as the recovery goes. I hope not and hope the rehab centre can make some progress with him as it is the top university hospital in Switzerland apparently. Shame as although not my favourite f1 driver he was certainly a legend |

Having followed the F1 doctors blog for the months following the accident, I don't think this is anything significant unfortunately..
He is showing signs of awarness and fleeting conciousness... no news on whether he can breathe unaided or whether there are any other encouraging signs..
Its so sad and tragic for his family and fans, but I truly believe we will never see him in any way or shape like we remember him again |
