I work from home all the time! That is unless I am out in the car, then that is my office. I would prefer to have a proper office to go to every day, I miss people!

I have an Office but I'm always on my own in it ! I travel a lot as well so my Car can be my Office but why do people ring you when they know you can't take a Message or have no chance of remembering all of what they told you

I'm at home all the time as I retired some years ago. Wouldn't have time to go to work now. Don't know where I found the time when I did go.

OMG that is sooo right! I have a setup in my car so that if I get a call (bluetooth built in) I press a button and a voice recorder starts recording both sides of the conversation.. End of call and I switch it off again. Works like a dream and as 'er indoors and me are getting a bit long in the tooth, means I can't forget anything lol (Unless I forget to switch the fookin recorder on! )

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

Back at work this week for month end after having last week off for exams.

Boss left me a list of things that need doing as she's off this week - fair enough, 11 items, ok...

Seven are apparently "urgent"....

Tell them your far better than what they already have on the books. Tell them your uber reliable and they want to send you out because you will enhance their reputation. Sometimes a little cheek can open doors if they are shut on you.

Hi BB

Thanks for your advice, however, one can only blag so much, getting passed a receptionist is a challenge in itself I'm just going to have to wait until the current business climate improves

It appears even temps are following the stand taken by those in permanent employment, i.e. staying put in their current role, employees are not moving around as freely as they once did, in fact, a great many employees feel thankful they have a position.

Its all over the place at the moment. I have been down in Cardiff sorting a company who went belly up last year and still 60 % of staff aren't re-employed Yet. But on the flip side there is a shortage of stock in many areas so realistically companies should be taking on and ramping up production. There is still a lot of cold feet out there right now. Hopefully a feel good situation with the world cup may boost things a little.

I get the impression most companies are waiting for the budget before making a decision to invest in recruitment.

There is a lot of that right now going or or rather not going on. I talked to three last week who are paying silly overtime instead of taking on more staff. It will have to change soon though and they will have to take on to meet demand.

With my stuff I find if I try to sell it too cheaply people become suspicious of it's quality, so I went more for the discerning end of the market
