Have courtesy car at the moment cos my pile of French crap Peugeot 207 is once again in the garage to try and stop the wind whistling through the drivers door

Anyway, I digress. Parked the car last night at home put the keys on the bench. Come to get into the car this morning, no flippin' keys ! Looked everywhere - ziltch !!

Mrs red said "could they be in the bin" "No, don't be so bloody stupid, why would I put them in the fking bin?". By this time I was like a raving lunatic hunting high and low for these damned keys, the dogs were cowering in the corner, probably thinking WW3 had broken out. The family is here with their 6 week old baby - screaming non stop - imagine the scene ?

After about 2hrs they reappeared .

.

.

.

In the bloody dustbin !!

The previous night we had fish and chips and the papers had been put on the bench, then rolled up and binned - along with the car keys

Oh dear, I've been there and done that many times and can just imagine the scene!

Funnily enough though, almost everything tends to end up in the bin here. I think it's because I often carry around lots of different things at once. So, shredding, normal rubbish, purse, keys, coffe mug etc as I think that I might as well sort it all out in one trip than several. Cue the next 3 hours searching for the thing I put in the wrong place I should just learn to look in the bin first.

It was a sigh of relief I'll tell ya. The keyfob had the name of the garage and the reg no. of the car written on I was crapping myself in case they'd fallen in the street and someone had found them. Imagine explaining to Richard hardie that their courtesy car had been nicked AND I didn't have the keys in my posession

With me being in sales and on the road my pen is the tool of my trade. Well one day could i find my pen, searched hi and low inside and outside my car, in the laptop bag, in the briefcase, shirt pocket, door pockets, gutted the whole inside out, just couldn't find it anywhere!.

Eventually i found it......where you ask??

I had it across my lips

near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack!

Reminds me of when my sister moved house. She had three weeks off to get both houses straight, but about a week before she was due to go back to work, she was aware that she hadn`t seen the keys for her work place. After much hunting and turning out of un-packed boxes, she conceided that she`d lost them and was probably in for a disciplinary because the keys were for a Government establishment.

The night before she was due to go back to work, she went to her deep freeze in the garage to get a loaf of bread and lo and behold, there`s the lost keys!

But in the deep freeze?

She eventually remembered putting some shopping in the freezer on the night before she was due to move ......

warwickshire

I once said a naughty word when I couldn't find some van keys.

Yes, yes, I know that sounds quite incredible but it's true. The first thing I had done was to walk into the back of the van, up to the bulkhead and put my laptop up above where the driver sits. The van was then loaded to the gunwhales......before I worked out that I had left the keys with my laptop right at the front.

Deep breath, count to ten.....

If that had been in our branch of Argos, it would have been someone trying to steal YOUR car keys
