Am I allowed a weekend rant?

Anyway here goes. My ex ( currently still in the same martial home ) until the end of the month is at work and planning on seeing his new girlfriend later tonight and staying with her for 4 days

The cheeky fucking twat sent me a text saying I'm running late at work can you pack some clothes for me so I only have to pop in and collect them. !!!!

Fuming !!!

Haven't packed any although did consider packing and putting a pair of my knickers in there !!!!

Rant over.

Is the objection packing for him, his request or that he's away for four days?

I assume you told him to sort himself out and that is what he'll have to do.

Apart from the sadness of saying goodbye to the dogs enjoy the time he isn't around.

"Do you still have feelings for him?"

In these situations I think it can be hard to bring closure to what you once had.

Even if you have lost the feelings for the other party, it is sad to bring things to a close.

That loss can be more than losing the person.

Feel more sympathy for you poor dogs than either of you two.

Hope to hell you dont have any kids that you can cast aside so easily ..

Animals have feelings too & take a lot longer to settle into a new home than people do.

If your looking for sympathy we dont have any for you .... Move on & get over the break up your on a swing site

It's not by choice that the dogs are being rehomed

Ending something that has been the biggest chunk of your life is difficult. When you don't care what he thinks or does then you will know some peace.

We've had all but one of our dogs from Wood Green.

Are you taking them to the new Dogs Trust place? It looks beautiful there and there is a funny story about the place. Their first tenant was a stray cat who wandered in and decided to live there just as they were moving into the offices.

An animal takes months/years to trust a new owner.

A human takes a few meets.

Yes marriages break up but your on a swing site so move on & relax,

As for working full time we both work full time have a collection of animals & rent a home but we will never re-home any of them,

Simply because they are our little family & we could never part with any of them for any reason

Most of my animals are from rescue - all of them have settled in within a few weeks. I'm sure the op is not, as you say, casting them aside easily. Personally I hate to see pets left home alone all day while their 'loving owners' are at work for 8 hours + per day.

All strength to you Violet for tomorrow and I hope the dogs get rehomed quickly.

I have a cat, as with any animal if I couldn't look after him anymore, in the right way I would rehome as heart breaking as it is, the only way.

They fret, lose fur or feathers & they cant settle for weeks/months so do not try & tell me they will be ok

I have had dogs/ birds come to us that have had to be put to sleep as they have fretted so much,

Yes, you're entitled to your opinion. It's not shared by others and my response would be the same for a man posting that he had to give up his dogs.

I have taken rescue animals and they have settled. For anyone who loves their animal/s to have to make the decision to give them up is not easy.

When a relationship ends things change. Landlords are more willing to take children than they are to take dogs/pets.

It doesn't sound like this is a domestic violence case but there are lots where people remain in violent relationships as they can't find anywhere to take their pets.

The sympathy being offered is for that difficult choice people sometimes have to make in life.

I sort of agree with what you say as i wouldnt move anywhere where i couldnt take my dog, my dog is like a baby to me and i would never be able to stop thinking about her.

Although i think its kinder in some cases to take the dog to an animal shelter because some dogs can get lonely being on their own all day but not so bad if its two dogs.

Yup!!! Animals follow the pack leader. They don't care if that pack leader was different one day to another! Feed them, give them somewhere to sleep that is safe and they are happy.

All this placing human emotions on animals makes me cringe.

Some people need to get off their high horse. When people have more sympathy for animals than people perhaps they should just keep their opinions to themselves. After all, every member on here is a human being.

And before you say it I AM an animal lover. I just appreciate how hard this is for violet.

I've had to make similar decisions regarding pets in the past and it's never been easy.

I agree, in life in general. But this is a swingers site where all members are people. I prefer animals to people but that doesn't mean I can't empathise with Violet and feel her pain! More concerned about her than the dogs, sorry! Get a grip people.

"Feel more sympathy for you poor dogs than either of you two.

Lots of marriages break up for a number of reasons

I work full time and moving into a rented flat

So it's the dogs I'm thinking about !!!

The poor animals have not been thought about they will suffer more than you or your ex.

Your choice your reasons"

I totally agree. The OP and her husband should clearly have stayed together for the sake of the dogs

Aw that's shit hunni - hope you're okay, you must be feeling awful

I shouldn't be surprised at some comments above I suppose but I think the insensitive comments towards the OP are misguided. She is trying to do the best she can under the circumstances. Surely the idiots are the people that just thrown their pets out, leaving them to fend for themselves ? Then one could understand the tone of such comments.

You've totally done the right thing for your circumstances...there's no way you can work full time, look after 2 dogs & be in rented accommodation.

They will be rehomed (possibly together) and they will be fine. All of my pets have been from Battersea and they've settled in just fine.

Big hugs to you xxx

Just want to add I can't believe how harsh a minority of people have been ~ I know it's a forum & everyone is intitled to an opinion, but really..!!!

Now I've moved into a house with a garden I'm in a position to have pets however I work over 8 hours a day and the thought of the dog being in the house all day..it's not fair on animals to be in the house on their own for long periods of time..I'm sorry that you have had to give up your animals it is a sad event for anyone...

Next I have to say goodbye to my two donkeys.

Living with 6 acres and down sizing to a flat.

I didn't get the animals thinking at any point they would need to go. In our 23 yr marriage we have had many animals all lost to illness or age. Some if which I adopted.

I know my animals will be looked after by the new families that adopt them

You see lots of dogs from battersea dogs home on paul o gradys for the love of dogs who get re homed and go and live with some realy nice people, so its not all bad, there are some decent people out there who are kind to animals and you sound like a nice lady who has had some bad luck.

Step away from fab you won't find what you looking for from here . You will end up doing crazy stuff becuase you are upset .

You are on here whilst married

Now split up with your husband

So you obviously didn't want to be with him anyway ...

Take time out and focus on yourself

i dont get the rant, tbh.

he asked you a perfectly reasonable request.

IF you were mates and he was having a holiday away, and running late, you would pack him a bag

IF you were still together, and he was going for a business trip, you would have packed him a bag.

im sure there are things you have asked him to do since you 'separated' that could have been judged as being just the same as this request (i dunno, washing your dishes, or doing your laundry, taking care of your car, helping with the bills or whatever, it makes no difference what)

as for saying goodbye to the dogs, well, i see myself as a dog person, and yet, even i can sit here and say they are dogs. just dogs. not kids.

if you have formed too strong a bond with them (as you seem to have seeings as you called them your boys) then thats your problem, not his.

he is your ex.

he doesnt have to be there to support you.

you let him off that little requirement when you agreed to part with him, and indeed, he you.

im sorry its hitting you hard (although you seem to have found yourself enough fun on here so you dont have to miss him too much), you will have to move on from it and get yourself together for your move.

How unfeeling can you get. This lady has had a desperate 24 hours, all things considered. You make it sound like they are just a couple of happy go lucky housemates, which they are clearly far from. 23 years of marriage is a long time, you can't switch off your feelings for the other person. Sometimes, life is not as simple as just being able to leave when you feel like it; very often, circumstances will keep you in a place because you aren't able to afford to move. She sounds like she's trying to do the best she can and simply aired her distaste for a thoughtless act by her ex in a forum where she is a member.

And no. This is not some man hating woman typing. It's Joe. I recognise that sometimes - just sometimes - us blokes can be twats.

how can one suggest a person still has deep feelings for an ex partner, whilst said person is carving out a good passtime of recreational sex with people off the internet?

you cant just have it both ways you know.

if you love the person you are separated from, then you would try everything to get them back.

if you are happy to go off and enduce carnal activity with others, then your feelings must have dissipated somewhat.

yes Joe, i appreciate some men can obviously be twats, however, shite knights generally only come with balls, whether they have a partner or not.

Violet obviously thought it was a tad cheeky of her ex to ask her to pack him a bag so that he could spend 4 days with his new GF..

lol

we dont even live together now.....

but thats what i dont get.

miss V (the OP, not mine) has a 'special friend', and also has 'fun friends' and im almost certain her ex fella has to do things to facilitate her hooking up with others, even if its just being somewhere else, or whatever.

its all supposition, obviously, but there seems to be more than a little its ok for one, but not for the other, going on.

i really dont see what he has done wrong.

would it have been any better had he rung and said 'im running late, can you make sure you chuck some petrol in the car/get me some money out the bank/get me some food to take away with me for the weekend, on your way home from shopping, please'?

I didn't say deep feelings, I simply said you can't just turn off your emotions after such a long time. Whether the lady here has had sexual encounters from here or wherever is not relevant, unless she too has asked her ex to help her 'pack a bag' to do so of course! Help me out here, OP, you didn't do that did you? I think at the heart of this is a simple thing called consideration. It's a bit like rubbing ones nose in it, don't you think (sorry for the dog analogy, given the subject matter)?

As an aside, I didn't understand the shit knights thing. Me being thick maybe. Gouts playing up something chronic and concentration is a challenge!

Ok ...... A couple of years ago we agreed ( me and husband ) to have an open relationship we could see others for sex hence I joined fab. On the understanding it was no strings and we didn't bring it home. I am lead to believe he joined another site but we never discussed it.

Anyway he since found a new partner and told me it was over

Hence why we have decided to seperate and me move out ( we currently live in a farmers cottage on his parents farm ) hence the animals

I was upset about the text about the clothes as one I would never ask him to do that or similar and two he told me he would be there Sunday when I rehome the dogs instead he went to hers. That's why I ranted

To top it all off. I got made redundant yesterday

So .........

Thank you for your supportive messages xx

V, on the jobs front, things are looking up. the recession is lifting, people are taking on, there is work out there, if you want it. no longer are we at the mercy of bosses that want more and give us nothing, or at least its the start lol

silver linings and clouds, further opportunities and so on.

use this as an opportunity to grow and take the next step onto another plain that is the new and better miss V.

the same goes for your relationship.

tying yourself into a relationship with your ex, whether open or not, is still being tied down.

you may be having sex with others, and he also, but you are still entwined with each other.

he has already moved on, and see you more as a housemate rather than a partner (hence the perfectly reasonable request, imo, although seems im alone)

when you both decided the relationship had run its course, you should have made moves to change your situation, but didnt (not just you, but either of you) probably as you got want you wanted out of the situation, then, but things have moved on and he has changed the dynamic.

as for the animals, im guessing because its his parents farm, he has been brought up with animals, so doesnt get bogged down with that close bond with them anymore (again, pure guess work, but getting close to sheep/pigs you will be eating on sunday probably gets old hat quite quickly) so he is never going to support you in saying goodbye to the dogs when he has possibly said goodbye to hundreds of animals since he was young.

as i started this off, take the opportunity to have a fresh start, both personally and professionally. you will come out of it in better shape with a better life, i have no doubt.
