Are you the type to be in awe of celebrities?
Me personally, i just see them as fortunate people who had some good breaks in life, nothing to get excited about.
Someone told me they nearly fainted after meeting one recently...couldn't help but wonder why that would be the case, they're usually a lot shorter in real life

I admire the ones who use their fame and fortune to help others. Having a gift or becoming popular is down to luck. Using that gift for good is down to the person. I've met a few British tv personalities and sportsmen in my life. They are us but with a talent they make money from |

A friend of mine once got told to fuck off by Robbie Coltrane. He was very pleased with that. He was visiting London and just walking about and Mr Coltrane came round the corner. Being from Mansfield, we're not used to celebrities. The closest we get to someone famous is watching Crime Watch.
Without thinking twice, my friend said as the top of his voice. 'HEY, that's ROBBIE COLTRANE!!!' at the range of about 5' from the man himself. He was then told to fuck off. |

I work in a place where celebrities are pretty common. I'm usually okay with seeing and being around celebrities, but I met Ralph Lauren recently and I was slightly star-struck at that one.
He's about 5'2 and completely underwhelming, but I loved it. |

I have met quite a few famous people as I used to do photography for a radio station. I never got fazed, except when I met George Harrison and George Michael, both of whom I got tongue tied with. |

People waste their time on them way too much. Celebrity culture has changed a lot like Andy Warhol said 'In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes' |

Im not in awe of them having spent social time with international a listers, the US president and wife and sports players. All have been great but I have heard awful stories of jumped up twats who are too up their own arses who milk their little fame due to their own inadequacies. As with anyone, it is pot luck if we have much in common and personalities match. No need to be in awe, they usually are happy that youre relaxed and not uncomfortable, as it fuels their own. |

"I had a feeling this post would end up being a list of...I've met blah blah blah
People love an excuse to brag " It always happens, so I just sink to the bottom as Im not gonna say the Queen is such a close friend, we get along so well with Daniel Radcliffe, etc. No point in name dropping, especially if off topic. |

I wouldn't really say it's "off topic". People might be in awe of a celebrity, finally meet them and be completely underwhelmed. They're not trying to show off, just answering the question. |

I don't think I've ever been in awe of the celebs I've met, but then again none have been a-listers, and they've often tried to play the 'do you know who I am' card which just doesn't work with me at all, bless em! I think today's celeb culture has kind of killed the 'specialness' of it for me though as there are so many who are famous for doing nothing these days |
