Woke up this morning to my telly on the floor screen smashed and a sheepish looking rottweiler staring at me. Yes the fucker broke my tv.
So gonna get a new one today this will have to go on the wall instead of a stand. Should I attempt to put a50" on wall myself or get professional to do it?? |

If you can drill a hole ok, then diy, I've held large professional speaker brackets to walls using only 2" screws, the bracket bent a little under the weight, but screws never budged |

It all depends how handy you are with tools, if you have the necessary tools and how much knowledge you have regarding the different type of fixing needed for different types of wall. ie a brick wall will require (I always use 6) coach bolts with 10mm plugs however if it's a plasterboard wall, different fixings are needed. But if you're not 100% confident, get someone to do it for you and don't pay any more than 100quid (including the bracket) or you are being ripped off. |

"If in doubt call on Minxie for DIY help ..... "
My advise is get some proper fixings for the job. If its a plasterboard wall raw plugs will not hold. If you need more advise B&Q have some good staff, |

If its a solid wall you should be fine with the appropriate fixings, stud walls can be trickier if there is no fixing point where you want the TV but still do able. |

How clued up are you with diy?
What is the wall, brick or plasterboard?
Are bricks soft
Or maybe breeze block
How heavy is TV.
My advice always use bigger screws than they recommend. |

"dont forget your spirit level"
Check the ceiling is level first. If it's not and you mount the bracket level it will look pissed.
I did mine on my own. Fuck me, it's heavy lifting it head high whilst trying to locate it on the bracket. |

"Plasterboard wall. "
If the studs don't work out in relation to where you want the TV to be, fix a piece of MDF or similar across the studs then fix the bracket to that, better to be safe then sorry once again. |

The fixing points on the brackets should be positioned for most studs, and there's usually room for the TV to be offset on the bracket to make sure it's positioned correctly.
If there's a level bubble on the bracket don't believe it though, check with another level, I made that mistake before! |
