closing threads

Why do moderators sometimes close threads? I thought it was because someone maybe broke the rules but usually I can't see anything that could be deemed offensive. And what are the rules anyway? I've tried to find them so I can follow them but haven't managed to locate them, I may inadvertently break them!

Because either the thread got too big or someone has created the same thread twice

If you are on a computer, when you create a comment it will show a link to the rules x

Also sometimes threads are stripped of offending comments - then closed - so its not immediately apparent x

It mostly says don't write stuff that will piss off mods/admin, don't link to other sites (unless they sponsor Fab) and try not to be an arse.

We tread a fine line

I don't fancy the chances of this discussion going the distance..

Or there are to much bitter banter on it and abuse usually as well, so gets closed lol.

Ha I did wonder if I was breaking the rules, but was trying to be a good citizen and find out what I can and can't say

As someone has already said you often dont see why a thread has been closed because the posts have been removed.

Forum rules are just above the text box when you go to make a post, but they are here also if anyone is vaguely interested...
