What newspaper do you read ?

Jump to: Newest in thread

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

A thread yesterday , which started off by asking who had read the swinging article , became too big as the newspaper concerned was The Sun .

Most of the posts were nothing to do with the article , but focussed on what a terrible newspaper The Sun is , in the opinion of those posting .

So my question is , what newspaper do you fabsters read ?

To start the ball rolling , I read the Sun

I can honestly say I can't remember when I last read a news paper or what it was. Oh hang on it was one of the local papers on about the 5th jean this year but only one bit which was the bit about a friend and her New Year's Day baby.

I don't. They all skew stories to suit one agenda or other. Their main purpose is not to report news but to sell newspapers.

If I can't believe what I read in them, why bother?

There are other ways to get up to date (but equally skewed) information on what's going on in the world.

There never seems to be much to actually read in a tabloid. If I choose to get a paper it's usually either Independent/Guardian occasionally Times/Telegraph but I don't bother with any of them too often.

People on here are people. There's a mix of personalities, just like you'll find anywhere else.

Just because many of us are looking for NSA sex in one form or another, there's no reason to expect we all have anything else in common.

Don't read them often, if I do read a newspaper it would more likely be a Metro on the train. I should imagine quietly that has quite a larger reader base.

regarding the question I don't buy any of them regularly anymore, used to read the Mirror when it was a newspaper about 35 ish yr ago. Then the Guardian/Observer, occasionally the Independent..

the term 'newspaper' is an oxymoron for most of them now days when it seems to be all about some 'celeb' most folks have not heard of..

The Guardian and the Observer, as many have said papers can have a skewed view of the world. The Guardian is left of centre, that appeals. Also has a great review section and top notch football coverage.

The fact that one of me ex girlfriends was a daily mail reader was an irritant, as was her ukip poster in the front window. We split up, to be fair they weren't the reasons, I'm a right twat to live with ??

Lol, when you read the forums you realise that some swingers are more judgmental than religious fundamentalists.

I buy and read my local paper The Liverpool Echo most days of the week and check out a combination of bbc online and bbc and sky news channels for the major stories.

As a Hillsborough survivor I've actively boycotted The Sun since April 1989. I'll happily fully explain my reasons once the current inquests are over but wouldn't wish to make any comment that could be deemed in contempt of court especially after the guidelines issued by the inquest judge which covered all media including social media Internet sites.

I get my news online mostly.

The only paper I like a snoop thru is the local rag with headlines like 'man breaks window' or 'scout group does sponsored skip. Raises 45 pence'

I only read that to see who's croaked or who's been a naughty boy recently.

Never read a paper or watch the news.

I am not ignorant or disinterested; just prefer less prescribed methods of hearing what is going on.

Most of it is not good and we can do nothing about it anyway so I find that even when I do look at whats going on in the world, I regret it anyway.

Daily Express is the paper I buy for my lunch break at work and I flick through the Sun, read Dear Deidre and finish the crossword when I'm at my Mam's each day.

I don't give a flying fuck if intellectual snobs look down on me for reading red tops, I'm intelligent enough to realise that most journalism is skewed and don't purely depend on the papers to inform my opinion
