Bereavement affects us in different ways. But i see that uncle Mick has a new partner within 11 weeks of the passing of his former girlfriend, isn't this a bit soon.
So my question is. How soon is too soon? |

Not what am saying, am French so, I will illustrate with an example, before my friend died, she said to her partner that she wanted him to be happy and not mourn for a long time, etc... People have judge him when he started seeing someone else, saying it was too soon.
Only him and I knew that he had had this conversation with her. |

"11 weeks is a long time and when you get to his age you havnt got time to waste, life is for the living."
so if you have a partner and your on death door, and you come across a booking that shows he's arranged a fortnight in butlins Bognor for singles (not swingers) for when you've gone.
That would be ok. I know its a bit far fetched, but as you said life is for living |

I myself if i had a partner, i would want them to move on and be happy. That's not an issue for me. For me when i was in love that one time when we split i was still in love.
So for me personally i didn't want or needed a replacement. Sex maybe, that's different. |

I am not sure it is anyone's business other than the person involved how soon they start seeing someone.
Personally if I the plane I am about to get on lands on it's nose at 300mph, I would want Lu to be free to do whatever with whoever whenever she felt like it. Much like she can do today. |

Thinking more about it, if my plane makes like a dart, I would probably be too consumed with how fucking shit a time I was having as the seat in front of me got ever closer to my innards to actually give it a minute's thought. Lol. |

Don't really think there is a right or wrong time. Is a very individual thing and one of those times its hard to say how you feel till you go thro stuff yourself. Every person will react differently. As onlookers do also to situations like this ... Life is very short, live it before its lost. Don't mean the person who has died is forgotton and never exsisted. Some people just need companionship, old age can be a lonely place for many.

Maybe Uncle Mick cannot function properly without someone by his side ... he might have less feeling for the new person than he did for the person now passed on |

We all have different ways of dealing with grief and let go and move on at different rates. I hope that Mick and his new partner are very happy together |

If anything ever happened to me, all I would want is for crystal to continue to live her life to the full and not waste it mourning for me. As for how long before she 'moved on' that would be for her and her alone to decide when it was the right time.
Mick Jagger should do what he feels is right. There is no right and wrong. He doesn't really need to answer to tabloid hacks looking for a story or those that buy in to their reporting. |
