Just wondering what's better and more user friendly (I have my own opinion)
In one hand you have the cheeky banter and advice of the forums.
In the other you have the tight nit community of the Chat rooms.
So what is more entertaining and informative?
There's only one way to find out.
FIGHT!!!!! |

When I first joined fab as a singleton I went into the chat rooms, but found them very difficult.
I find it hard to concentrate on two things at once! lol - yes I am female!!! So I missed the comments directed at me - when one happened, which was (thankfully!) rare!
I found the forums a little clicky to start with, but everyone, well, nearly everyone(!) is lovely x

I've honestly found the chatrooms to be more open. The forums can be bitchy with lots of underhand snide cloak and dagger comments (which I've no time for). But I do enjoy both and they both fill a purpose in different ways for me. |

I used to frequent the chat room loads when I first joined fab...got involved with socials and met loads of people...then got brought into a load of shit amongst people so stopped using them...I enjoy the forums far more |

i am sure people who use the forums will say forums and people who use the chatrooms will say chatroom...
just like people who use the forums will wander into the chatroom and say it is "cliquey".... just as people who use the chatrooms will wander into the forums and say it is "cliquey".....
I just like the forums more just because it is slower paced and gives me time (most of the time) to think about what i am writing..... |

I prefer forums for more constructive chit chat.
I find chat rooms full of guys saying hi and use lots of text speak. I struggle with text speak.
Directing rooms I find very friendly. But regional room for my area is very...not very welcoming with newbies.

I use and like both, I find chat more friendly and full of silly banter so I prefer them.
Some good and fun posts here sometimes but I agree with the comment about bitching and snipes at people. It does get a little tedious at times....
Yes I know, don't read them then! |

It's hard to keep up in the chat, esp when talking to a few at once |

with regards to bitching and snipes I don't think there is a difference really...
the only thing is that if you don't see it happening on chat within about the 30 seconds it is posted it is very much "out of sight, out of mind" whereas with the forums, if it is posted it remains there for ever and people can go back and look at it... |

The odd time I've used the chat rooms some of the sights have scared me away.
And there never seems to be much chatting.
And they don't work very well on tablets. |

Yeah that's true I suppose, I'm pretty good at keeping up though and personally have seen more of it here.
Sometimes quite personal attacks, however....I'm by no means on both all of the time so maybe I'm not the best judge. |
