You can also use Dropbox and do it wirelessly. Go to the website, download the program for your pc, create a free account, download the app to your iPad and the rest is just dragging and dropping what you want. I use the wired method, as above, for work related sensitive images etc and dropbox for all personal images. |

Disconnect, leave for a few seconds then reconnect. Select the files you want to copy, right click your mouse and click copy. Then browse to the iPad folder gallery, right click your mouse and click paste.
Don't do too many at once. |

"Sync them through iTunes?
This ^^^^^^^. It's the easiest method.
hmmmm, may be easy for you, but for me?? oh no
and what about my ahem, more risque pics going through itunes??"
iTunes would be on your laptop. They would only transfer between that an the iPad. I'm guessing you don't have iTunes installed on your PC?
Do you have an iCloud account? |

If you haven't got iTunes on the laptop it's very easy to download. |

From the apple forum
You can put the photos in a folder on your computer.
Then connect your iPad to your computer and open iTunes
click on the name of your iPad
Navigate to the photos tab then choose to sync selected folders
navigate to the folder you put those photos into and choose to sync.
Note, anything that you sync onto your iPad can't be deleted from the ipad, it has to be synced off.
So if you have just a few photos, it may be easier to simply e-mail them to yourself and save them from that e-mail. |

And this
You can transfer the photos with a free app called Pic Share It. You drag the Photos to the Pic Share It window and it saves them to your camera roll on your iPad.
