Ive just come off of a 2 day ban on the forum (only) for somethong i was not aware of.
Now this was not a major problrm in my book but i now fully understand how i broke the rules.
Thing is this could have been sorted in seconds if a delete button was avaliable
Have anyone else been banned for a short period for silly mistakes.
Whats your thoughts on this |

your not allowed to speak about specific bans, but yes i do feel that there should be an option to delete a thread you start.
Due to the fact this isnt an option you can within a few minutes delete and remove your own initial opening post, and if you still feel strongly about having it removed you can click and 'report' your own thread if u think its necessary |

Im guessing the reason why there isnt a 'delete thread' button is just because you start the topic off on one tangent does not mean you have control and can dictate to others how the thread evolves.
Sometimes it just goes down another sideline but still polite well balanced discussions and sometimes it doesn't always go the opening posters way often causing the 'toys out of the pram' mentality from those who strongly disagree.
Just because a few have conflicting views does not make them wrong.

I just think it would be easier to tell me to delete it , tell me what i did wrong and move on
This is not knocking admin on here its just helps people out for silly mistakes.
AGAIN THIS IS NOT A KNOCKING ADMIN THREAD |

If a mod sees a thread which has been repeated they can move it to another forum, or redirect it as appropriate.
If you start a thread and don't want it to continue, then the only thing I can suggest is to contact admin |

Anyone that's had a spell or two on the naughty step tends to soon learn to think before pushing the 'post message' button.
Too many spells on the step run the risk of it becoming long term or permanent.
Sometimes it's good to re-read what you've typed before submitting.
Sometimes it's better to bite your tongue and simply not post.
Either way - the forums are moderated pretty consistently so it's a fair environment for all.
Welcome to the forums!

Mods are not obliged to mail posters to tell them they have broken forum rules in fact Admin don't actually want them to.
Maybe read the rules before you post and it may stop you being banned at all.
Here is the link for you.
