Boss Mustang 429. So good that Ford got someone else to shoehorn the engine in!
As for UK cars, I'd say the MK1 Escort or the Sierra Cosworth. Everything else they've made, with the exception of the new Fiesta. Has been dire... |

Best - Ford Orion 1.6i Ghia - stuck to the road and went like a bullet.
Worst - as said above I started with the 1.1 popular - what a crap car.
Currently - Y plate Focus diesel I love these cheap to run and cheap to repair. |

"Probe"
I had 2 Capri"s fave one was 2litre in British Racing Green
Then I got a Probe in metallic lilac which is quite an apt colour for me ( spares were like sourcing hens teeth though )
And yes guys it is about the colour hehe

It was a '68, and my fav ever Mustang.
My dad had a MKII Lotus Cortina, which was very cool as a kid.
I had a MKIII Capri GT, which I loved. Especially fun in the rain
The Ford I would most love to own??? The original GT40

Loved it " I loved the reverse window on the classic and the fastback Capri. To a very small kid, all the consuls looked like stylish yank motors. Them and the Nash Metropolitan |

Ford, own or at least did own part of Mazda, the Fiesta was badged as a 121 Mazda and in Greece the Escort was badged as a Mazda.
The first Probes into the country about 1500 cars IIRC were all built at the same time and arrived on the same boat, so some were 3 years old before they were sold!! |

For me, my absolute favourite is the mk2 fiesta. That little angel introduced me to driving twice (once at 17 and again after a ban) and set me free.
For looks, and the way it makes me feel, it has to be a capri laser with the 2 ltr pinto. I had two of these and a 2.8, but the 2ltr spoke to me in a way no other has before or since.
One day i will have another.
misty eyed sigh |

I had a brand new KA when they were first out and I loved it. Easy to drive, very nippy and more space inside than people realise.
I also loved my Mondeo estate - used it like a van.
Liked the gold & silver Capri's in the Professionals too |

That's why I had a silver Capri. Because of The Professionals. Had a few to be honest. A midnight blue one, 2.0s, couple of 3.0s, and eventually sunk a V8 into an electric blue one. Put side exhausts into it, so they came out just behind the (huge) doors. |

"Capri, Escort, Sierra, Zodiac, Zephyr, Mondeo, Focus....... Sure there's loads I've missed out.
ford capri Brooklands, wish we would have kept it, seen how much they go for now???"
nice cars but rusted badly as the shells they used were 500 that were left over at the end of capri production and left outside untill used for the late production of the brooklands.the 2.8 specials were a much better car |

We had a ford escort and the cortina, the coetina said 1.6 on the back. Someone had fitted a 2.0 engine in it, we only found out when we changed the engine due to it breaking down.
I agree Ford GT 40, best ford car. |

What was sold in the UK as a Mazda 121 was also sold as a Ford Fiesta in the US then it appeared back in the UK as a Kia Pride. |

There are so many really good ones, and i've been around old Fords since early childhood, but a few do stand head and shoulders above the rest.
Old F-100 pickups together with certain late 60's Mustangs for Ford of America, and loads of stuff from the UK...Zephyr, Zodiac, Corsair, MK 2 and MK 3 Cortinas, Escorts (from Mk1 Mexico up to the Cosworths), MK 1 Capri, the list goes on... Have owned a fair few Fords over the years, and enjoyed them all (and cross-crossed Europe a couple of times, with only a couple of minor issues worth mentioning).
