Firstly its tradition they are yellow secondly sugar isn't always wrapped in paper who does the shopping there? |

I actually know that one! The Simpsons are yellow because, when it first came out tv's were obviously not very good quality. Matt Groening wanted to play a joke on the public that their television set was faulty/the colour on their box was slightly off so they'd spend ages trying to alter it.
