Sounds like you'll be assessed and then either an op offered. Fuse discs is most likely. But do ask if you're a candidate for a new procedure to refil the disks I think it was. It was in the Daily Mails medical feature.

Don't take any crap ask to see and have explained mri scans etc. & a second opinion from a specialist.

Depends how badly hearneated the disc is.....they dont slip.

If you have pain it is a good sign as it isnt impinging the nerve excessively.

When you have been through all the treatments you need to see the physio for all your sessions and then take up exercise.

It is not as dangerous as it seems atm and back ops have good results. Try to avoid fusing of discs as the accompanying scaring/tethering can cause further long term issues.

If you are a candidate for refilling take it.....you will be treated like a racehorse if the study is ongoing.

I feel for you as I have had this problem. Have you tried fentanyl patches for pain. I had to have surgery on my cervical spine and plate to shore it up. Had epidurals of my lumbar spine which helped. If I was a horse they would shoot me.

Epidural to try and get the nerve to relax and probably physio. Tramadol was my best friend ,but watch out for difficulties coming off of it. Don't take no shit from the Drs. I saw consultant privately and it was so with it.
