I don't quite understand your post OP. I would say, not related to your post. Get checked on a regular basis. Regardless of who you have been with, and what you have done with them.

I do whenever I have fun with somebody. What I mean is is it pointless or worthwhile getting checked because some random guy who admitted he wasopenly and wanted me to take him back to mine fpr sex (but I declined) troed snogging me and Iit lingered for a few seconds. I know some stds can be transferred through kissing but im wondering if that itself warrants getting tested |

If I've understood you correctly, I would think it's unlikely. However as you've said you get tested regularly. And you appear to be concerned. Getting checked out isn't going to do any harm. I hope I have made sense, I have had a few drinks. |

"Is it worth getting tested for some random openly gay guy trying to snog me? It only lasted a few secs but I know its possible even if extremely unlilely to caych some from him"
Would you be this concerned if a random woman snogged you ? |

Did you push your tongue into his mouth? Which way did you tilt your head?
Did he push his finger in your ear whilst your lips were entwined?
It all makes a difference as to which STD's you'll be the most susceptible to.
Head to the left, just a bit of tongue wiggle in a counter clockwise direction, with no ear fingering... you'll be fine.
Head to the right and you'll need an umbrella down your shaft for a good scraping.
Clockwise tongue wiggle and you'll need steroid cream and antibiotics... which you could substitute with Flora and a stem of Aloe Vera.
Clockwise tongue wiggle and ear fingering.... you have 24hrs before your cock drops off. |

"This thread, what the hell"
though it may not be for the same reason, my thoughts were an echo of your post.
I'm shocked at the behavior exhibited by some of these responses.
OP, you sound as if you are slightly naive. that's not a bad thing at all. yes, it's possible to transmit some sti by kissing, though it can be more difficult. the sexual orientation of the person you kissed isn't relevant as anyone of any orientation can pass on any infection in a number of ways. my advice is to go speak to the clinic where you regularly get tested. they need to advise you of transmission routes and the times it can take for am infection to show up. I'm not having a dig. it's good you get tested after each partner, though infections can take months to show up. share your concerns with those who are both used to hearing the questions and are educated enough in that subject to answer them. |

"Holy shit dude! Get to the clinic NOW!
You might've caught the ghey!
"
There's a test he can do at home.
Lift up shirt.
Check if both nipples are pierced.
If yes... buy Elton John cd.

why do you assume because he's gay he will have a sti? if a woman had kissed you would you still want to get tested? or don't women get sti's?
I find this question very ignorant to be honest |

I dont assume he has. Its a matter of fact that gay and bi guys are more likely to have some form of std. And the fact he was a stranger I dont know if he played safe with anybody or not. Also id still be concerned if a strange woman had given that I dont know them either. Just they are less likely to have an std. |

You need to do some more research and address that unfounded prejudice.
Just a little factette for you...
Far more women than men were diagnosed with herpes in the last few years. And far fewer gay and bi men were diagnosed with it than straight men. Gonorrhoea diagnosis is higher in men, if I remember correctly, but more straight men were diagnosed than MSM (men who have sex with men).
More gay and bi men than straight were diagnosed with HIV in the last few years but a) HIV is unlikely to be contracted from one snog and b) this could be down to far more gay and bi men getting tested, meaning a lot of straight men have it without knowing.
I can't be sure of recent stats without checking but it used to be the case that more gay/bi men got tested, and more regularly, as compared with straight men, so were far more likely to know if they had an STI and get it treated.
Your main issues here, I would say, are lack of knowledge of the matter and unjustifiable prejudice, not that an "openly gay man" tried to snog you. |

Show me a link to official stats to back that up.
I think you're wrong. I've certainly seen nothing in the last few years to support that and a brief look at research this morning seems to say the opposite.
I'd say your beliefs are rooted in prejudice, sorry. Unless you can provide recent peer-re_iewed or official research to support your claim. "All doctors and posters say so" is weak justification, to say the least. |

I believe you may be confusing that MSM are more at risk of catching STIs with the idea that more MSM have more STIs.
Higher risk does not automatically indicate higher incidence. It just means MSM must be more careful. Being more careful may well mean fewer MSM have STIs overall. |

Does sexual guilt play a part here??
Many practices that I consider to be under the umbrella of 'safe sex'..this includes kissing:man, woman or beast.
Less worry & anxiety with more enjoyment is the order of the day.. |

"Oh dear just read yr profile... What kinda state will you be in when you get yr (virgin?) ass fucked??
It sounds to me like that is what yr after.. " think u missed the point...I was asking if it was wprth getting tested for the random gay guy trying to stick his tongue down my throat. Not asking anythig about something that hasnt happened. And quite simply if I meet off here I am extremely picky and have already got to know who im meeting and not just another random person before you or anybody else decides to turn that back on me |

As a gay guy, I have to give my four pennies worth here....
Why cos he is openly gay does one consider getting tested immediately? You look at some of the guys on here straight bi etc fucking sucking being fucked and some openly raw, and then going home to there partners, joining group sessions passing about what they may have or not been distributed amongst the masses, also ask yourself how many guys get tested checked or wait till there partner has been tested before finding they are passing something about? Never mind your openly gay mate...However if it makes you feel better next time your at the std clinic let them know a guy tried to lick your tonsils..... |

" so many people missed the point of this thread when I posted it. It had nothing to do with the fact he was oprnly gay but the fact that was it worth getting tested over some complete randomer trying to stick his tongue down my throat. Given that he was so open and sincere about how he planned to fuck me that night ya gotta think he may well be like that a lot of the time and thus there is a reasonable chance he cpuld have caught something. The entire thread was about was it worth getting tested because this guy tried ti throad fuck me with his tongue. |
