My strength comes from the fact I believe in reincarnation. So the fear of having to repeat this heap of shit keeps me moving onwards and upwards .
I'm not coming back! |

My strength comes from believing in there being good in all people. If I can be good to others and brighten their day then maybe they will go that extra mile and brighten someone else's day and so on... |

I give myself emotional strength, even during the bad stuff I've had to cope with, others need me more. I just hide my neediness but now and again, the emotions rear their head. |

It can be tough, my father died recently and its awful, as he was a great source of stability. The knowledge things get better and lots of hope and dreams keeps me going alongside my family and friends. |

"To carry on?
Not being a wimpy, sympathy seeking, immature, "oh woe is me, you should all feel sorry for me", empathy sucking fuck up... basically."
Woohoo someone who doesn't need emotional strength ever, you go girl
Hang on that's nigh on impossible in a human's life. We all go through stuff where we do need to draw upon strength. Personally I don't find sympathy from anyone (strangers or loved ones) any help whatsoever. A baby's gurgle, bird song and music are uplifting triggers.
Empathy sucking - what an amusing paradox.
Anyway lucky lady for so far not needing anything. |

"my daughter..
never really believed in fate/destiny til i had her.. She saved me from a very dark place.
My very own miracle "
Having the resposibility of a small child can be an amazing gift if it triggers the nuturing, protecting and loving feelings within us |

You have an interesting interpretation of words... especially those which haven't been typed. |

"Karma. "
How do you believe karma works?
There's the phrase something on the lines "the good you do to others comes back to you", I believe in this along a hedonistic basis. You do good to others gives you pleasure, this pleasure is the instant reward.
What I don't believe in is the negative aspect of "what goes around, comes around". I think it's a useful philosophy to prevent revenge, hoping that someone who does bad will get his/her just desserts later on. |

Yep . There certainly was more than one interpretation of your post. I'm not fussed if I chose the wrong one |

"having experienced bad times, it makes the great times even more infectious....
do you find yourself chasing good times to keep you on a high?"
nope, I just appreciate them more. I lived the corporate life for so long that I love the simplicity of many things now. The walk along the beach, the coffee and people watching etc etc.
I am happy to reflect on the many good times to keep me content. |

I feel that untill we are faced with something that makes us truly have no choice than to be strong , we don't quite appreciate just how strong we can be ... Then to look back at that time and see you got thro it, kinda puts all eles into perspective... Add to that sheer bloody mindedness .... Thats how I do it |

My family and friends give me emotional strength. They remind me that I do the best I can and one day good things will happen when I least expect them. Knowing I do not stab people in the back or have a me me me agenda reminds me I am a nice lady. |

"To carry on?
I don't always know, but what's the alternative? "
I was hoping some bright spark might relate the question to carrying on here at Fab .
Personally I'm addicted to the forum so I'm not going anywhere soon |

Sorry...I missed where I did that! Maybe because I didn't. You posed a question and I answered it...believe it or not I, like most, have a life off this site. I'll clarify for you...On occasion I wonder how I got through certain things, but as not getting through them would have been to give up what was the alternative? |

Like people who say don't get old, there is only one alternative. Rather than carry on that sombre note I thought I'd be light-hearted. |
