It's a strange one - the paper shouldn't have said that it makes you stupid, as that is the wrong conclusion to be done from the study.
The results showed a reduction in specific brain area size amongst those who watched more porn.
But, correlation doesn't equal causation, as most statisticians will declare. Does having this alternative brain mass influence people to seek more porn, or watching porn cause brain changes? It may be completely unconnected. Also, minimised brain size, in a small area, does not of itself equal stupidity. The brain has incredible plasticity to evolve, so functionality can be translocated elsewhere etc. |

I agree. Causation would have to be experimentally determined. |
