Hi all this is my first New Forum Post.
I have just been watching Catfish: The TV Show and it got me thinking.
Why do some people feel the need to pretend to be someone their not?
What is it their getting out of it?
Did they expect to meet the person they are chatting too, or is it all fantasy?
How do they keep up the lie without being caught out?
Why do they do it, I don't get it?
I am who I say I am and I'm honest with everyone I chat too. Best way to go.
Anyone know why they do this? |

hiding from cock pics. |
They may have low esteem so take on a personality or character of someone who they think is more worthy of attention or love.
They may feel the person they decieve would not listen to the "real" them.
Then I think it runs away with them sometimes and goes so far they forget the reality of what they have done. |

I have low self esteem, but wouldn't pretend to someone other than me. I feel better when people comment on my profile or pics knowing that it's true to myself.
I couldn't feel good about myself if I was being someone I'm not. |
