I first heard the sketch on R4, very late on a Friday night as I was driving back from a night out.
They are doing all the alternative comedy of the 80s and 90s now. I feel very old.

"I still love Waiting for God, Stephanie Cole in it is brilliant.
She always ended up playing much older than her age. "
Yes she did, she played a really old lady in Open all Hours and that was years ago. Shows just what a good actress she is. |

Be careful of the Phantom Flan Flinger! Used to have me and my brother screaming with laughter every week.
I miss only having three channels to choose from.

"The Morcambe and Wise breakfast sketch.
That is a classic.
"
The four candles sketch was one of my first thoughts too.
Oh, and the dead parrot sketch.
I don't like most Monty Python but the dead parrot sketch is brilliant. |

I loved Jam even though it was dark as hell - in fact anything Chris Morris has ever been involved with. I do like my comedy and faves also include Kids in the Hall and Big Night Out from when I was a teen then Spaced, The Fast Show and not forgetting Linehan with Father Ted, Big Train and The IT Crowd. I used to watch old comedies like The Ladykillers with my grandad as well and loved those too. |

"I loved Black Books.
Bill Bailey is great "
Bill Bailey stand up! Awesomely bizarre with so many tangents. Mix that with the fact he can literally play any instrument. He's a modern day jester. |

I asked generally bu I'm watching the BBC2 programme and realising how many started out on BBC2 and that I have spent most of my life watching and laughing at comedies from BBC2.

Three brilliant race sketches from the Goodness Gracious Me team:
A modern re-working of the "I look up to him but down on him" sketch
A great UKIP sketch.
The Delhi Mail editors meeting.
I really liked Scary Poppat too.
Lots of good material and ending with Blurred Lines - stop thinking with your dick.
