reality if it had happened i would have been a bit taken buy surprise,, especially since the gent asked me what i wanted to drink

I always try to buy the first drink. I say try because some men seem to think it's emasculating to let a woman buy him a drink. I usually drink orange anyway |

lol if this was a real situation id never go out without money, and id probs insist on buying all drinks anyyway
was just a conversation and he hypothetically asked me for a drink then added oh but you can only have cider cos its cheaper.. |

Oh I, - when I were a yoong lad, scampi were two a penny - but not now though, ooh noo!
Nowadays, scampi expect 7 star hotel in Dubai, rubberback entertainment & then whinge when they get a fishy cream pie for after's!

It's not a case of a man taking charge. The round system has been around since the first pub doors opened for business. It's worked for centuries. You both take it in turns to buy drinks. The only exception to this is the designated driver. They can opt out of the round and can sort themselves out should they wish.
It's not worth arguing over, the macho men who insist on buying all the drinks are out of touch and are not really thinking about what the woman wants at all. If he is that pushy about something as silly as buying a drink what other issues does he have in his outdated life ? |
