Do you use words that others dont tend to use, im not talking about long or fancy words just every day words.

Jay says im the only person he knows that says horrid and i nearly keeled over laughing so much when he asked me to give him some of the counterpane

We use the word duplicitous instead of two-faced; cant remember when we started using it - was after a mate of mine did.

The ones that amuse me are the ones trying to recapture youth adding retro words like cool, dude or babe. Now we all would smile if grandparents started doing this. Sadly the individuals desperately trying to recapture youth fail to see it. It is highly amusing to watch though for the onlooker.

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

I try not to use long/obscure words anymore, as it's no good talking to someone who has to have every third word defined for them (through no fault of their own).

But in my younger days I was terrible for it.

If you weren't a granny i'd guess your daughter was 15-17 ish

They pretend they don't understand, or at least i think that's how it works

I like the fact that people use different words. The English language is vast so why not use all of it.

but all of those words came from the 60-70s,so why should not people who live and grew up in those decades use them ?
