I don't like the sun, after being burnt quite badly when I was 14 due to be stupid and thought I did not need sunblock! 
I would go out and about in the sun for the minimal time required, then go back indoors and admire the sunny scenary from the comfort of my air-conditioned home!  |

being a good american kid we are basically taught that in the hottest part of the day not to be outside unless you really have to....
so when it gets to 30 and you lot all flock outside.... we all go in and turn on the air con!!! 
besides having been here for a while now, i work out you all like it for about 3-4 days and after then you all get really irriatable when the novelty wears off........ |

thats true - and it doesnt even take that many days.
Our building at work is old brick and no heating - its always cold.
And we had customers coming in yesterday (the first sunny day) revelling in the coolness of our building cos they were too hot!!!

Wish we could have proper summers that warrented workers taking a siesta tho.

see... its one of the things being a new york kid.... 90 degress with 85-90% humidity is not nice!
do everything you need to in the morning... or the late afternoon.... but the middle of the day.. indoors air con on!!!!
god i miss the summer power cuts... normally late afternoon early evening when the whole system was overloaded ... use to hang out in the neighbourhood but the fire hydrants to cool off...... |

its so true when i lived in Australia for a few years i had a 7 mile white sand beach at the bottom of my garden and i used to have a stroll down to the waters edge a couple of times a week in a fierce sun ...the neighbours used to call me a mad pomme bastard ,i used to say you pussy aussies its all beer and cricket on the tele in the bar,good friendly banter
years later i found a skin cancer and had to have it cut out .....i learnt my lesson ,,,and always avoid the hottest part of the day now . |
