Got a text from my "wife" saying some scumbag broke into the house during the night and stole her handbag which included her purse etc etc, ipod and docking station, and whatever else they got their hands on. The TV was unplugged but it seems they got interrupted and scarppered in her car!!
They got in through the front door and she slept through it all. She is devastated and me like a good "husband" help her get through the day in arranging insurance things and a courtesy car etc etc.
It was actually nice to stay in my own house again even if it was the spare bed
Joking aside i do hope the burglar dies a slow painful death. |

bring back the stock's and the birch, all wrong doer's deserve their punishment,
on a more respectful note, do you realise that answer machines are a thief's best friend, they call numbers from a directory and locate a house with one then call it several times to find a time when the user is likely to be out, crime prevention officer told me about that on. and it does leave you feeling invaded and depersonalised when it happen's.
Crime should be punished and the punishment needs to fit the crime ones more,we have become a nation of softies towards the criminal, and forgotten about the victim, it's they who should get all the help not the person that robbed/beat/abuse them |

Well its good that you are helping.
Its not nice having your house burgled at any time, but to have been in the house when it happened must haave been horrific for her.

poor sods!! just wish you were allowed to beat the crap out of them if you caught them, swift proper justice for a change.
if there was more risk that they may get hurt not just a wrap on the knuckles, the little bastards may think twice before doing it.

I'm too nice a man to leave her to it and plus my name is still on the mortgage and someone invaded my property.
I have no ill feelings of her but it was unfortunate the marriage ended. We seem to get on better as friends for some strange reason.
Anyway........update, just got a call from plod to say her car has been found. |

Sorry to hear that, but good for you for helping.
I got burgled soon after buying my house - my daughters felt uncomfortable for about a year.
My "husband" was brilliant too, helped get everything sorted. Really nice of him considering I was away with a boyfriend at the time.
H really is a better person than me because I don't think I would have been so helpful! |

why do you ask if it was terrorists that did the break in?,do you know something we don't?.
both terrorists & robbers will claim the human rights have been infringed when it comes to the sentencing for both crimes so why the big deal?. |

Just asked because the Op did not say who had broke into his property and it was you who introduced the terrorist

The Op had not mentioned anything bout terrorists but you did when talking bout Labour bringing in the human rights bill and I just wondered what that subject had to do with regards his property being burgled |

they get to courts and the lawyers come up with excuses as to why the perpetrator of the crimes really is the victim here and they seem to get away scotfree as to punish them would infringe human rights!,its all to do with the watering down of the punishment for the crime!.
no doubt some smart-arse will go on about "droughts" as i mentioned watering down?. |

What a load of old tosh......sorry but I never heard of a burglar getting let off because his human rights have been abused, you have taken this terrible experience for Grecian and posted on his thread just to spout your own weird political views about the country.
Sad example of thread hijacking

For what it is worth Grecian, not withstanding the fact that you have been turfed out of the family home by your ex in the past, what you did by offering support and comfort to your ex was very admirable and for that you should be applauded. |

the bloke is quite right am afraid!, it is a sad fact that burglars (or robbers as i prefer to call them )are being treated leniently by courts if they are drug dependant!,(crack addicts or smack heads or whatever they are known as!).
the courts will not lock them up because if they do they will be depriving them of the drugs that they crave for and depend on!,if the druggies are then put on programmes to wean them of drugs whilst in prison they are then sueing the prison authorities for compensation!,which ultimately you & i,(joe public)have to foot the bill for!.
i am afraid that there is no detterent in place to deter wrongdoers so it is not a load of old tosh at all!,just take 5 to read your local newspapers. |

Hope they get the feckers that did this.
Grecian it's great that you have the humanity and kindness to help your "wife" in her hour of distress.....and great that she feels she can still call on you for help when needed.
Good man and hope this all ends well |

If you are stating that no drug addicts are being sent to prison then once again a load of tosh, there is no such thing as a wide spread amnesty for addicts I am afraid, individual cases to not constitute a trend or government policy.
The original claim was that burglars don't get sent down because of human rights abuse, which is rubbish. |

An update on this....
The police stopped a car for what reason i don't know and guess what, it was the scumbag who broke into my house who was driving it.
Not only has my wife got her car back the bam has also been arrested.
But wait for this......its going to cost £150 to release her car from the Police compound after forensics are finished with it.
Where is the justice in that!!!! |
