It was in reference to Tottenham supporters who call themselves Yiddo's.

Although spurs do refer to themselves as this there has been a bug campaign to stop other teams from using it. It's an arrest able offence to use this phrase at football now.

It is still an offensive word and Spurs fans are being encouraged not to use it by Spurs.
