Even Chess players where the mind is key peak at 40 yrs and go down hill from there. The youngest ive played with in the last year or so has been 28, the oldest Jay being 67. It is all about mentality with me. I have lower age as being 35 on my profile as i thought it would stop all the really young ones messaging me but it hasnt, i get 19 year olds messaging me. Im not a teacher, i want someone who is confident and can hold there own. Confidence (in my experience) gets better the older we get. As to the person who said we go down hill when we reach 40, well me may not be quite as physically fit as a 20 year old (or in my case nowhere near) but we make up for it in confidence and knowledge.
Now i would sooner have a 50 year old who knows what hes doing than a 20 year old who hasnt a clue |

Not sure i agree with that at all as ive a 59 yr old (now 60) thats got more stamina than the 35 yr and the 52 yr old ive met yet all smoke and drink, so i have to say there are exceptions to that rule. Footballers, i see your point there, in fact anyone doing sports will obviously slow down, as the continuous exercising wont help the body at all. |

I am going to say this and I shall only say this once,lol :
Unfortunately, you cannot choose to stay young but you can choose who you want to spend time with, whether it is swinging or any other form of human contact/ friendship etc.
When I was in my 20ties I deemed people over 35 as "past it" which is the kind of statement only an immature person would make; when I was in my thirties I thought same of people in their mid forties.
I am not sure at what point in my life I will consider myself (not anybody else) too old for swinging but generally I cannot see why 40 plus seems to be a source of irritation to some people in an age group that will be there themselves in less than a decade? Age perception is "relative" anyway.
It seems a bit arbitrary to draw a line - any line really, and to pass judgment on who is too young or old for this scene and then making your own opinion on the subject sound as if it is a material fact supported by everybody else.
Swing/ play/ cycle/ walk/ chat whatever... with who you want to - but don't pass judgement on those you dont want to meet sounds to me like a logical way to be.
Now where is my bus pass and Zimmer frame as I am off to a get some oil for my stair lift, alongside some incontinence pads and pegs for my bingo wings...;-) |

Unfortunately, you cannot choose to stay young but you can choose who you want to spend time with, whether it is swinging or any other form of human contact/ friendship etc.
When I was in my 20ties I deemed people over 35 as "past it" which is the kind of statement only an immature person would make; when I was in my thirties I thought same of people in their mid forties.
I am not sure at what point in my life I will consider myself (not anybody else) too old for swinging but generally I cannot see why 40 plus seems to be a source of irritation to some people in an age group that will be there themselves in less than a decade? Age perception is "relative" anyway.
It seems a bit arbitrary to draw a line - any line really, and to pass judgment on who is too young or old for this scene and then making your own opinion on the subject sound as if it is a material fact supported by everybody else.
Swing/ play/ cycle/ walk/ chat whatever... with who you want to - but don't pass judgement on those you dont want to meet sounds to me like a logical way to be.
Now where is my bus pass and Zimmer frame as I am off to a get some oil for my stair lift, alongside some incontinence pads and pegs for my bingo wings...;-) "
i didnt think i was passing judgement on those that i dont want to meet. I started this thread because i thought it was funny a guy saying he was looking for mature women yet only 5 yrs younger than me. Like ive said, its peoples choice, whats fanciable to one is not to another, simple fact |
