Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Fartlek doesn't sound very nice.

Danish, Swedish? Something Scandiwegian about the word.

Titz Towers, North Notts

Is it only me who assumed it was some kind of perversion, possibly Far Eastern in origin and opened this just to check?

swedish i think, for 'speed play'....basically run really fast between 2 points, then recover, then run really fast again

but make sure they're irregular intervals and change when you feel like it

No pain, no gain

I use street lamps as an interval sprint between two and jog for four;

Sometimes three and three

I've also got interval training as part of my running program with my app

Just take it easy and don't do to much to soon, speedwork is great for getting your cadence up and being able to run faster and harder.

It's also good at producing injuries.

Let your body adapt and certainly don't do more than one a week for time being.

Do some additional core work in gym and don't forget to stretch.

Most importantly always warm up throughly before starting any speedwork.

However fartlek is slightly different as all your doing is increasing tempo at intervals during a normal run.

Have fun

Yeah, I use street lamps too and also have an interval training as part of my running program with my app.

To avoid sore legs, good stretching/cooling, cold shower on your legs if you're brave lol and raising legs... Works for me

Just East of Wakefield

I run as well

My club sometimes does it, but it's not for me

I'm not that fast; 21:10 ParkRuns, 42:36 10K, 1.42 '1/2'

Prefer fell-running though

And l have 5 road-bikes
