We were thinking of having a party and we're wondering what people expect from these and if there were any general advice you lovely people could give. It would be at our house and so we wouldn't want too many people. |

Some good advice - in general, ready a list that's larger than you'd like, as quite a few generally don't manage to make it.
Have clear rules and boundaries. It's possible to either share out lists of stuff to bring along, or else keep it fairly cheap and simple. People can always bring a bottle or so, to drink.
Getting the right mix of people is important - aim for balance of interests and genders/singles and couples.
Try to vet people as much as possible, either with social meets first or people that you've met previously, such as at clubs. |

Also, it appears to be law that at every party someone will have too much to drink and will make an ass of themselves. The last one I was at, this lady was pissed and asking loaded questions about whether people liked her or not |

Last one we did we played strip pontoon and it was us that ended up starkers first lol |
