I don't know how much I spend in my quest to find a nail varnish that doesn't start to wear off after even 1 day even if the blurb states it lasts for up to 7 days!
Does anyone know any good makes that actually do what they say?  |

"Try going for shellac or gel polish in a salon.
Last 2-4 weeks without chipping... Well my clients colour doesn't anyways..
Dries in seconds so no chance to smudge.. Etc"
Never been to a salon ..might consider it if all else fails  |

"Mavala base coat. The one with 002 in it's name then two or three thinish coats of OPI polish and finally Sally Hansen Double Duty top coat."
I use Sally Hansen already and OPI is a fail for me  |

If you are doing it at home OPI and Nails Inc is great. The secret I'd to use a good base coat & top coat. I use OPI Nail Envy as base coat and Perfect formula top top coat (yes I meant to put top twice). I get 3 to 5 days chip free wear with that.
For longer wear OPI Salon gel Polish is great. 7 days with no chipping, then there will be slight wear and tear, I usually get two weeks per application.
The best however in my opinion is Jessica Geleration salon gel polish. two weeks perfect wear with no problems. It is the most expensive and is usually around £25 per time though |

To be honest if you've got a good base and top coat you can use any colour polish.....I've had a rimmel stardust on for two weeks on my index fingers with not a chip in sight, thanks to Perfect Formula Top Top coat. |

I do also find that glitter polish has better staying power. I have a couple of cheaper glitter polishes that stick around pretty well! |

glitter nail polish is the beauty worlds equivalent of woodchip wallpaper 
I am currently trying a new one I got as a freebie...its by a company called Cheeky and so far it is doing the job

I am a convert to gel. I have the sensational kit, which will be about £70 for everything you need to do home nail gel, then the colours are £15 each.
I only bought a couple of colours to start, and so within two months it had paid for its self with me not going for a salon manicure.
Do it properly and you can get two weeks out of it.
One of the best things I have bought this year.
