The land of grey peas and bacon

Is there any type of food that you have always wanted to try but have yet to do so? For me it has to be Polish food..where I live there is a large Polish community and there are various polish Deli's that have opened and the food looks yummy...

I regularly cook Polish food. Pierogi being mine, and the kids, favourite. I'm surprised more people haven't tried it.

Thing is that in many cases, we think in the UK that we are trying cuisines when, in fact, we are just trying a version of a cuisine packeted to suit our perceived pallates.

Eat pasta or pizza in Italy and with a few notable exceptions, an italian meal here will never taste the same again.

I can vouch for this as I thought you couldn't best home made Italian food and then i went to Italy. Nothing beats it now. It's probably because they grow their veg really local and it hasn't got chemicals in it to make it last longer. I want Togo back there now

I haven't tried Carribean food yet i don't think. I'm not really a fan of Oriental food. I do like my rice and curry though...but Turkish food is my favourite.

It's similar to Ravioli except the pasta is made with bog standard plain flour rather that Durham flour, you also use fewer eggs and add sour cream to the dough.

Our favourite filling is Twarog cheese (full fat curd cheese) and potato. You boil them and serve with melted butter and sour cream. Any leftovers are then fried.

Probably not the sort of food you'd eat if you were on a diet!...

That's where you're wrong, it's far more diverse than that.
