it's in the nature of the beast to lie.
And i know i'm going to get a fair amount of abuse for that line too.
But not one of us on this site can say honestly that WE have NEVER LIED , the nature of who we are and what we do in our private lives will and does lead us to LIE to certain members whom we are acquainted to. Like i said is the nature of the beast |

If we could rid the world of all kinds of Political Correctness, then yes, we would all aclimatise to it, but we tell porkies for all kinds of reasons.
If it's ever ok, to do it, in my mind can only be to prevent hurting someones feelings.

Personally I think I'd like it. Might take some getting used to as it's not the way of the world, but you'd cope with it eventually. I generally always would prefer to hear the truth, rather than what people think I'd like to hear. Whether it's harsh or not, I don't like to be lulled into a false sense of security and prefer to hear things at face value, then at least I know and can deal with that in my own way.
Did think the film was good, but thought if you couldn't lie, wouldn't necessarily mean you'd have to blatantly say things to peoples faces like they did. Surely you'd have the choice of not saying anything, just if you did say something it would have to be the truth. |

Most company brochures and peripheral service industries scrapped after admitting they have little if any effect on output, sales or there product is crap
Tourism might drop especially after saying this is yet another ordinary average castle just like all the others you have seen.
People may pass away quicker as they lose all hope...sorry your totally fucked there is no cure and like everyone else eventually is, you will die ..just far sooner..but cheer up at least you know.

It depends on how you look at things. Lying is to blatantly tell untruths but its not the same as telling the whole truth. You can choose to tell the limited truth or say nothing at all as both are not lies.
Lies can be a way of softening a blow but in reality you find many use lying to pervert a vision in their image.
Would the world survive? Yes i am sure it would but i am not sure about the human race. |

Think of the time you'd save by not clinging on to a dead relationship.
Companies which did live up to their word... or at least genuinely try to.
News papers with actual and factual news in them.
Tourists finding exaclty what they paid and expected to find. You could book a trip anywhere and know for sure it wasn't a photo of somewhere else and the hotel wasn't a building site.
You're partner saying "I know you've got fat but I know I can't do any better than you as I get told everyday how lucky I am to even have you to shag and a few guys at work would be around to comfort you if I ever left".
People might just make the most of their last days instead of wishing them away with denial and false hope.
As for knowing the world is fucked and we will all die.... don't we know that already? Don't we know about super vocanoes and the like?
Wouldn't we stand a better chance if bio-teccies said "can I have some funding for this virus which might wipe out the planet if one of us sell it or lose a memory stick on a train"  |

Serious note : 5 people watch an event, say an accident. You will have 5 witness reports, all are somewhat different depending on their physical perspective (and possibly interpretation) - and 5 people would have told the truth.

Your truth is not mine or someone elses it is undefined etc etc etc ..take the multitude of religions and faith as a example all believe its the truth..most discount the other versions but allow its existence some dont even allow that.

We would all be fed up with it very quickly! We all love to be told we are nice, good, sexy, handsome and so on. Most of us would not get these comments and some of us love to have those little white lies told to us!
I mentioned this to our next door neighbour just as a conversation maker and she said it wouldn't be good for her cos she knows that guys only meet her because she "puts out" (She is vanilla)but she loves to be told different! If they were honest, they would just tell her that she was fat and unnatractive and all they want is a shag!! (Her words and she is a size 20 and about 5ft4)
I would certainly lose out because those couples who were honest would say that they only meet us because both of them fancy "Mrs Rumour and we can put up with you!" (actually close to what was said once!)

Not really a problem with her self esteem! She is a confident lady but is just a realist! Yes there are guys who like the larger woman, but she knows that she is just a deluxe wank for others. Thing is that if everyone is truthful, she wouldn't get the nice comments she gets now, even if some are lies! |

But why entertain the others?... just to have someone tell you something you think is a lie?
Sorry but there is some sort of esteem need when a person would sooner be lied to and know it, than wait a little longer for a genuine compliment. |
