closer than you think |
my partner was pulled over yesterday for making a left turn off Marylebone Road into Marylebone High Street ..... fined £100 and 3 penalty points
he was told that the road had become no entry a few months before. I looked on the internet and it seems to suggest that this closure is only an experimental trial and in fact finishes on 18th May !
Now my partner is prepared to accept the £100 fine reluctantly of course, but feels that the points is a bit excessive
Is it worth appealing or does he just accept them and take more care when driving? ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |

There had been a TV show about parking (stay with me).
It's shown a few clips where people have taken parking fines to appeal and won.
It may be worth a try. |

On what "grounds" would you be appealing and why should they be succesful?
You can look into it and try, but i cant see any reason why you should be succesful.
As you say, suck it up and be more observant in future. |

If the only basis for an appeal is that the restriction was due to be lifted soon, then I'd not bother. It's irrelevant. It was in force at the time and that's all that counts.
As another posted said, if you pursue it through a court appeal on this basis alone, you are likely to get more points and a bigger fine.
If the signage is inadequate in some way, then you may have grounds, but you'd need a compelling argument I would think.
