Do you ever take advantage of the anonymity of the internet to tell a few porkie pies?
Are you a rocket scientist or an astronaut?
Has it ever got out of hand and you've been trapped by an exaggeration of something to someone you thought would be a one off and now they've become a friend (or more) and you don't know how to tell them?
I'm curious, a few people I know have lied about their ages then had to tell me further down the line quiet shame-facedly, and I know of a couple of people who have given themselves a promotion. |

Someone who became a very good friend of mine fessed up that he'd shaved a few years off to stay under the 50 yr old age filter many have - bless him, he obviously had to psyche himself up to tell me.
I've also encountered people who claim a certain level of education but appear to be lacking the basic skills to have got there. That amuses me because I generally go for a physical type and if it's combined with a pleasant personality I couldn't care less if he left school at fifteen and sweeps the streets for a living! |

I find the biggest lies come from those who've been rejected or butt hurt in some way and set their sights on trying to paint the other person as the bad guy/girl tobtryband exact revenge. |

Yeah in my time of using a variety of sites to meet people I've encountered a few fantasists who have claimed to be special forces. The irony being that I do know some actual special forces peeps who see straight through the bullshit and the fact that I don't care what people do for a living if I'm just meeting them for sex! |

people must think I lie about my height (I'm six foot without heels) judging by the amount of 'blimey, I didn't realise you were that tall' when we actually do meet...and that's where it becomes patently obvious that whoever I'm meeting has lied about their height and added a few inches |

I dont like people who big themselves up - I just feel cheated, as theyre not willing to be themselves with me. Its a bit sad. I tend to moderate myself, to ensure Im humble and not at risk of doing the same, so prefer to under egg the pudding. A while back I did add years to my age, as I thought Id be taken more seriously - now I dont case : like it or lump it. |
