So I was dieing for a wee, and had to stop off on the way home. As in most men's loo's there was the condom machine, that now sells mints, blue pills and vibrating cock rings.

The machine had a sign on the cock ring saying over 18's only, yet the others were fine. It got me thinking, why do we say it's ok to have sex at 16, but it's not ok to use sex toys until you are 18?

I now seem to remember sites such as love honey and Anne summers say you have to be 18. Just got me thinking...

I've never understood that. Its ok to have sex but you cant watch other people have sex for another 2 years.

Its like you can do the lottery at 16 but you cant 'gamble' til 18

That's exactly it. Surely the lotto is gambling too. Just a baffling set of rules.

Given the number of under 16s having children, it's about time society acknowledged that it happens and that buying birth control shouldn't have an age restrictions imposed on it. If kids are going to do it, they will - at least let them do it responsibly.

This post is not condoning under age sex, nor condoning a lowering of the age of consent. It's about a pragmatic and practical view.

You can have sex at 16 but can't legally watch someone else have it until you're 18 (yes, I'm referring to porn).

That's a joke though with the ever increasing amount of kids, even under 16, who have internet access on their phones.

Here is another question.

If we gave out free condoms at school to battle teen parents and enable the kids, if they are going to have sex, do it responsibly, would that then increase the number of kids having under age sex?

Do we want less kids having sex, or more kids having more sex more responsibly?
