Really in a TV you are looking for good quality HD with decent colour separation. The latest curved screens look good and I am not sure if 3D is still a ginmick at the moment. There is a ratio for screen size x distance from screen. Not really had a good look at the curved screens in any detail yet.
What does make a big difference is a good surround sound
