just had the radio call every first aider dreads!

A pregnant women with sharp pains :-$ thankfully I did not have to deliver a baby Few!! lol. I think it was just a trapped nerve in her back.
So what is the worst first aid call you have had to deal with ? |

A crushed hand, the person who it belonged to was too late getting it out of a steam press. It was a steam press for pressing clothes.
All the juicy incidents I have been the casualty. |

A guy who passed out in a meeting & they couldn't get him to come round at all. Remember it was scary for my colleague & I who were called. I've never seen anyone look so pale.
Once checked his breathing etc put him in recovery position & waited for the paramedics. He turned out to have a heart condition & had a pace maker fitted. He's right as rain now.  |

I delivered two of my three children (obviously supervised by a midwife). It's not that difficult as the woman is doing all the hard work.
I've seen some horrific first aid incidents, usually when someone shouted "man down". |

Dad is diabetic so have called 999 several times over the years... I know the drill with him
Mum on the other hand had a twisted bowel.... that was scary... Emergency operation and ITU for 2/3 weeks weeks....
Seen a man with a screwdriver through his hand... that was intriguing I was 8 at the time will never forget that.. |

I keep waiting for the bad one to happen to me, I work in a school, we have had a couple of broken legs and dislocated knee caps, but up till now one of the other first aiders have had the broken bones calls, but I know it's just a matter of time till I get a bad one :-$ |

Me and guy was doing building work in remote farm.just buildings no home there.and a sheep was having lambs in shed and obviously in distress.we had to deliver.much drama.

Witnessed a stabbings when I was 10, was training with the red cross at the time.
He had and artery in his arm slashed, the first aid training the redcross gave me helped me save his life.
Wouldn't like it to happen again. I'd probably panic more as an adult.

Also had to call 999 for my Mum plenty of times, last time was major and she was rushed into icu on life support.
The way she looked at me as they carried her off was a look of 'I'm about to die' and I'll never forget that look. |
