What makes a good Avatar?

What kinda pictures draw you in to make you open the profile and have a further snoop at public pictures?
If i see a nice face i will often have a look, joys of the Avatar is that you can see a small image that's not overly detailed but you get the idea of what a person looks like. Also just because its an Avatar does not mean you have to include it in either a public or friends gallery  |

I changed mine around a lot when I first joined but I think I've settled on one for the foreseeable future. There are some great ones out there - I like the ones where you get a glimpse of face. |

Aside from really liking funny ones I think an uncluttered single shot taken clearly is most likely to draw the eye because it's such a small space to fill. Group shots or entwined bodies don't work well of the aim is to draw someone in.
For me that's simply a great cock shot. Mr D would probably say ladies legs in great shoes or boots. |

For me a black and white avatar, surrounded by black text on a white background, tends to merge together, there's nothing for the eternal to be instantly drawn to, but a bright colour will instantly stand out.
Black and white is flattering though, so it depends on whether you want the avatar to stand out and attract more interest or have an image that you really like |
