Sounds a lot to me unless your house is constantly getting filthy for some reason. Do you keep horses in your sitting room?

Lol, that was my first thought too!!

Jeez, do you realise that,if everything in your life is this sterile, you are at risk of getting ill really easy?

Your immune system (and anyone elses that lives with you!) will be serioulsy compromised, you have to be exposed to germs to build up a resistance.... otherwise you will end up house-bound as the real world will make you ill ffs!

Brighton - even Hove!

Tomorrow morning, when the house is quiet...line all your cleaning products up in size order. Then scream "fuck you!" at them and go for a walk. Tomorrow, don't clean, do something else.

I doubt we buy that many cleaning products in a year.

You are probably doing more damage to the environment than the whole of Bradford put together.

At my house, especially kitchen, after a week of neglect, you would move in. Keep you busy for days.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I live alone so it's not an exact comparison but I don't think I use 10 litres of bleach in a year.

If you've run out of things to clean you're welcome here. Just once mind.

If you've got a 14 bedroomed mansion and every one of your messy kids have their own ensuite and you also run several operating theatres as a home enterprise, I'd say perfectly normal.

Over the rainbow, under the bridge

You clean the entire house daily? Find something else to do. My mum was a traditional, old fashioned housewife though she also worked. There were 5 of us and she was very house proud. However, each room only had a good clean once a week. It was not a dirty or messy house.

I don't clean as often as that but I have a small house and live alone. Having a remote vacuum and a dishwasher helps cut down the work too. My house is certainly not dirty or messy but it's not show home sparkling every day either.

I'd love a remote hoover. But I don't think they are that great with pet waste.

And to the op, my housemate loves her bleach and cleaning stuff, but we do not go through anywhere near that much a month.

I think the fact that your friend who asked you to add it up was actually trying to make you see that it is a bit over the top! I totally get the clothes washing stuff, coz my washing machine is on all the time too....but what on earth do you do with all that bleach??!!

They're not great but I have no pets and if I switch it on 3 times a week it keeps it fairly clean. Every now and then I throw the Dyson over it.

You clean the whole house every day?

You need to try other things, take up a hobby, like swinging for example .
