No mate of mine!

The story was based on an article in the newyorker magazine written by an Irish journalist who was formerly based in London during the 60's and early 70's.

He was supposed to visit a club in Brooklyn frequented by young Italians but couldn't find it so he fabricated it from his observations of the shepherds bush mods.
