A guy turns up... With a box. He opens it too reveal a button. You have the option, press it, you receive a million...but someone unknown to you dies.. Would you press it? |

Hmmm... someone unknown to me dies every second so on that logic it shouldn't matter to me if I press the button. Something else I have done may have caused someone unknown to me to die (driving my car and creating pollution, for instance).
Tonight, I'm going to press the button.

I don't even mind that scenario. My loved ones will have enough to buy somewhere for each of the children (now before the prices get too out of hand). I'm not that attached to me being alive.

To play devil's advocate...simply put, a million pounds, if invested, could save many lives over the future - is it a small sacrifice, if you don't know any of them?
Obviously the above is all in context, people are dying every minute all over the world, so you could do so much good with the money if you were brave... |

It depends on my personal circumstances at the time and how desperate I was for the money.
If someone was in dire financial difficulties etc, and I mean really desperate, I could see why they would press it.
A few months ago, that kind of money would of saved my marriage, so yes, at the time I would of pressed.

It rather reminds me of a tale I read of Idi Amin's jails. A chap would be given a sledge hammer and told if he battered a prisoner to death he'd go free. If he did it, he'd be left in the cell for a moment, whilst another guy in a different cell was being handed a sledge hammer and told to make a decision.
I'd expect to be the next person bumped off when someone pressed the button |

Yes the box with Cameron Diaz... At the beginning I thought press it press it...
She pressed it.. It caused so much heartbreak, their son was rendered blind and deaf... Their option. Hubby could shoot wife and their son returned to his old self. She of course, wanted him to kill her. He had hold of the gun ... But the box had been passed on they pressed the button .. He slipped and shot her. The son returned to normal. The husband of course was arrested.., so the son was left alone anyway...
Got me thinking ok press it... It's a stranger that dies... Someone you don't know. Soooo
Assume it's a close relative they are ...pregnant perhaps with with your grandchild? This would be Someone you don't know or have yet? To meet? Could they be the chosen recipient..
