What's your budget?

Have you got a partner and children?

How many miles do you cover during the week and is it local driving or motorways?

Do you have access to any fuel allowance from your employers?

I think you should consider purchasing ma old battered Transit 2.3 litre van.

It needs a new gear box and pulls like a slug

The paintwork is not out of this world, honestly, if you think rusty then you are not thinking hard enough.

It will stop in a reasonable distance as long as there are no idiotic pedestrians within striking distance.

I have a spare tyre, but it's only flat at the bottom.

I have had a few offers from some dodgy looking Eastern Europeans but I tuned them down on the grounds that they had no idea what an M.O.T. was.

Bloody chancers or what

*this may not be true

He was ripped off then. The clutch is £150 and it's about 3hrs labour.

I drive a GT, I'd never pay that for a clutch replacement, even if it needed the DMF doing, which they never do.

Hows your cash flow

buying in cash or finance ?

Check out insurance costs too.

road tax cost, mpg they all have an effect at the end of the day.

I have a bmw 320d road tax £105 per year

around town 50ish mpg motorways 70 mpg

With 184bhp as standard.

Its really worth doing some research on this

"What to get "

Something economical and reliable for a start so that rules out Italian Spanish and Russian ones.
