The Wicker Man

There's supposed to be a successor to the 1973 film The Wicker Man coming out this year.

Although the 1973 was bad in patches it still remains one of the best horror films ever made in Britain.

The darker side of the pagan sexual nature worship was a massive shock to the junk that passed for horror films that preceded it.

Does anyone know anything about this new film called The Wicker Tree? Well any more than Wikipedia appears to know?

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

Try imdb.com - a little more reliable for such things.

Christopher Lee's in it, as is the gorgeous Honeysuckle Weeks.

It was!

Nothing like as adventurous as the original.

Followed above suggestion. Can't remember Honeysuckle Weeks too well.

Can she replace Britt Ekland, Diane Cilento or Ingrid Pitt as three witches?

Will have to see.

Agreed. They completely Americanised it and it just wasn't the same as the rural 6-fingered families and howling at the moon remote Scottish setting like in the '73 version.
