Spelling mistakes do not bother us but poor grammar is another thing entirely.
You should have said 'Mine are...' and not 'Mine is...'.
Try harder.

I agree because in today's society we shorten words
My daughter often elongates words like okkaaiiii instead of OK. Some people type how they speak, like a local dialect.
I was seeing a girl from East London and I'd say shat app then a girl from barnsley and it became shurrup lol |

The original was correct. Is was used because the writer was citing a single example, that example being "your and you're".
If the writer had two examples of a common mistake, such as, "mine are your/you're and misuse of is and are" then are would have been correct as opposed to is. |

"None as my spelling is not the greatest....why judge others and their flaws... "
That is a good point. However, a mistake being pointed out to you should be takentaken eagerly as an opportunity as opposed to taken as an insult. Learning is fun.
Allegedly. |

Maybe and I'll take that but you see all too often on here people belittling others over mistakes they make whether it's grammar or spelling...there are ways of doing things without belittling others. I'm happy to learn and learn on a daily basis as I have to write legal letters on a daily basis and often have to use big words. |

Thank you for that, I stand corrected. Would you like me to light anymore bonfires for you to piss on? (I feel so stupid). |

Your point is a good one. It is not uncommon for people to be rude. I guess you have to be quite tactful in those circumstances. Perhaps not my strong point always. |

My pet hate is using the word decreet/decrete incorrectly!

That was supposed to read 'it's not something that stops me from liking someone'
And the iPhone autocorrect helps people spell words correctly. |

Did you use an IPhone to post this, if you did it clearly defeats your argument.
And what about those without an IPhone, like us? |

When posting on here or in texts, I usually put ma instead of my and yer instead of your because that's the way I pronounce it.
If however I'm writing something a little more official I cross ma Ts and dot ma Is.
At the end of the day, as long as I can understand what I'm reading it matters little to me. The spoken language is so diverse and this is portrayed in the written word |

Doesnt matter to me if someone has a spelling mistake or for that matter carnt spell. Not meeting somebody for that reason in my opinion is a bit strange. Someone might not be the clever with spelling but doesnt stop them from being a good fuck. When people advertise a meet saying they are looking to play i presume they are after playing a spelling game and not playing sexually. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion tho. |

I was being sarcastic when saying that, if people.wanted to play spelling games i doubt they would be on this site. Unless it was naked scrabble and each time somebody had a 7 letter word the opposition had to give them oral. Now that would be fun |

Dyslexics aside, it's likely that people who don't give a damn about their spelling and I will not have a mental connection of any sort. I need that cerebral spark to be there.
It's not an absolute rule but it is, in my experience, a very strong indicator.
Good sex is partly mental, partly attitude and certainly more than sticking tab A into slot B. |

I'm attracted to intelligence, people with attention to detail, who care how they present themselves and many other factors. Spelling is an indicator of whether I am likely to 'click' with them.
It's not the spelling that attracts or repels me but what it says about the person. |

Poor spelling, or obvious genuine mistakes, don't bother us in comparison to lazy spelling. Language, both written and spoken, is constantly evolving though. At some stage in recent history "sick", "wicked" and "bad" have all meant "good". Them pesky kids of today |

I find with these things some people try way too hard to demonstrate their (perceived) superiority - often in ways that expose their ignorance.
I can tell much more by what somebody says than how they say it. Likewise for what they write. |

Tounge is my wee bugbear (well it's one of them as I am pretty anal about spelling) but I would never be rude about anyone's typos.
Missing or misplaced apostrophes are another little irk...I was in Blackpool t'other day and spotted a takeaway called Popeyes Takeaway so I took a picture to send to one of the forum regulars...of course I went back under cover of darkness to paint an apostrophe in (I'm not allowed access to flammable materials anymore so I couldn't firebomb them) |

I'm not sure why you'd be confused. It's down to how they come across. Here, where communication is written, it's a big part of it, especially as I have no body language and only (if I'm lucky) a few photos to go on. Here I'm deciding whom to meet virtually blind. In a club, I'm not. |
