Personally, I would rather do away with Bank Holidays altogether and have 5 extra days holiday a year which could be taken whenever (leave Christmas and New Year where they are)
Then, allow parents to take their kids out of school for those five days - so it stops the mad rush on Bank Holidays and School Holidays down to the South Coast!

meh, holidays are overrated, unless you have something to do.
weekends tend to be enough for me lol.
