I have noticed some photos around the site have descriptions on the photos, just wondered how that was done or not done more?
This is an example I found earlier today

Probably best to edit out the link as naming isn't allowed on here.
You used to be able to annotate your photos, but can't anymore. You'll notice that their annotated ones are 7 years old, so it's nothing you can do now.
The best you can do is use a editing programme to write stuff in |

Thanks Tina, I was a little worried i might get told off for that, but as i wasn't saying anything bad, good and only referencing it, I figured it will prob be acceptable.
I have thought about writing on our pics as well, just never got around to it yet... might start doing that in the future though |

I had a post like this a few months back.
Apparently when fab first started you could uploaded pictures and could label them and with a description. However this was stopped due to data storage. |

people like to add their profile names to their pics as it stops others from nicking them...if you have a name going across the picture that's going to be difficult to remove |

I wonder if this is still the same thing? Would be great for people to put a note on, say where it was, who they were with, what was happening etc.
I would love to be able to tag people as well... would be a good way for this site to be able to link to profiles maybe? |

No scarlet it's an actual description below the image rather than a watermark |

Just found this in the FAQ
How do we add captions to our photos?
Unfortunately, you can't any more. This feature was lost when we moved servers in December 2008. We hope to bring it back at some point.

I know there is the description at the bottom edge of the pic but recently there is a trend starting for profile names actually on the pic or in the corner, presumably done for the reasons I have stated |

I was out last night and put a caption on a pic taken. I was tempted to say who the good looking girly next to me is, as I blanked her face out, but figured this probably would be defeating the object of blanking out the face..... |

Ahh but surely, if you are linking to their profile, then as long as you don't identify them more than what is on their profile, then it will be cool. Also like facebook, if it was a proper link, if they don't want it, they can remove the link and it would never be an issue. Maybe even require their authentication for the link to go live. |
