Good bit of kit however you can get better and lighter for the same money. Whatever you go for just remember to ride it first.

Specialised are good enough bikes but there are plenty of bikes that offer much better value for money.

And to avoid any confusion, when the OP talks abour getting back on 2wheels I'm pretty sure he's not talking about me

How much do you want to spend?

What type of riding do you want to do?

Have you budgeted for peripherals like helmet/shorts/gloves etc?

We can give more detailed answers if we have more info.

I've got a Rockhopper and it is great!

Nice and light, good hydraulic disc brakes and bright red so looks sexy

Mine is a few years old now and was £700 new

Cheers for the feedback.

Looking to spend no more that £700, mainly riding on forestry roads, although would like to give some mountain trails a go too.

I can also state. I have never met crystal but if there is an offer, I wouldn't say no. Lol

Thanks guys.

Totally, I have a Ridley Xride and love it for trails and lightish off road, goes well on the road too.

Have a look at planet x bikes, you seem to get an awful lot for your money. I'm about to order an RT58 road bike from them, elsewhere for that spec I'd be looking at twice the price or more!

Most bikes are pretty much the same these days however if u shop around u can get better components than others. Trek use their own branded stuff which is Crap when u need to renew said parts as do cannondale. I. Am a spesh fan but a roadie so can't advise on offroad bikes

But they are very good when it comes to warranty issues.

Have a look on wiggle.
