Not a snob, but know what I like and what works for me. So sometimes only preferred brands will do. For most things it's a case of buying what's on offer |

"The proper brands usually taste better than the supermarket cheapo brands. Had some cheapo version of weetabix the other week and they were horrible." I agree on the weetabix, cheapskate ones are awful but as said above I prefere basic beans to brands

I experiment with products and try a lot of own-brands. I certainly don't buy branded medicine, such as aspirin or paracetamol, where you pay about 50 x as much as the generic same stuff.
There is a thread on snobs, where some have mentioned adherence to branded items only too.
Some brands I avoid like the plague. Cadbury's is a welcome one that I don't though. Other chcoc can work well too, but mainly stick with cads. |

Alot of things are the same product. Iv worked in various food production places in the past, thepackaging is changed at the end of an order, say waitrose or M n She's, but the stock on the line is just the same, and continue with tesco own brand packaging. Sothe ddifference in price is for the name on the packaging, well I don't eat that bit! Some are different, as mentioned above, fake weetabix are rank, but I prefer cheap beans, x |

My brother insists coffee has to be douwe egberts, refuses to drink the tesco gold if mum buys it. But what he hasn't realised in over a yr, is that he's drinking tesco gold, mum just puts it in the douwe egberts jar. |

"For me toilet roll has to be fine quality...the cheapo stuff you can put your finger through...not great if you have done a number two "
I remember we used to have the tracing paper loo roll at school ~ about as useful as a chocolate teapot... |

No, I actually prefer some of Aldi's products over brand names. Orange chocolate covered cakes that are found in the biscuit aisle come to mind. I mentioned cake and biscuits, do I win a prize? |
