"I hate filling them out with a passion.... ....any funny stories you have regarding job applications that you have read etc..(I'm half way through mine and I need wine) "
Yeah always put pointless letters after your name it makes you seem more important....and if you get the job, you know you're boss aint that smart and easy to game ...so much easier to skive off sick on full pay.

Seeing as I work in recruitment I will give you some sensible tips.......
If sending a cv make sure it is up to date and is tailored specifically for the job you are applying for
Always send a brief clear and concise covering letter outlining how good you would be for the job
only apply for a job that you can actually do....not one that you fancy turning your hand to
if its an application form make sure that everything written is clear to read, also make a photocopy of the application so if you get an interview you can remember what you put
good luck its a tough world out there! |

I see tens of CV's every week, hundreds if we have an ad out.
Nothing surprises me any more.
They are a bit like the forums. Never does a day go by without me thinking 'what the actual fuck' |

I got an email job application last week from a guy who's email address started with "fannymagnet" ... I always wonder why people don't think to make a new email when they have an address like that lol |

I've lost the will with job hunting... I've been looking for a year now, due to redundancy.
I've had a 3rd interview to be told at the 1st one they need someone asap, after the 3rd interview I was informed the role has been put on hold due to budgets
Got to a 2nd interview, all was well was informed they will let me know the following morning... I heard nothing I then chased the co who said due to unforeseen circumstances they need another two weeks, two weeks later I was informed the role was offered internally... I was told at 1st interview they had 700 applicants and interviewed 10 how true I don't know...
I've been to 4 interviews now and after chasing them I still haven't had any feed back or outcome news...
I hate it when you fill in an online application which takes 15 mins, You copy n paste your cv etc to find on the very last page they require you to upload your cv....
I had an interview 2 weeks ago a small family run company with a blind diabetic doberman in the office, spent the whole interview taking about the dog! well 80% of the time, the woman could talk for England
I applied for a job of gum tree last week or so... Just an office job nothing out of my range of skills... I received this email yesterday: We have had an overwhelming response to our ad on Gumtree and we are currently looking through all the CVs we have received. In view of this we have decided to apply the following criteria to all applications: English mother tongue, locality, knowledge of accounts and Sage software, experience, Italian as a second language, approx age (i.e. 20+, 30+, 40+).
I can't speak Italian!
All I want is a PA role again... ok will settle for an admin role, this is longest I've been out of work and I'm hating it....
Anyone in need of a PA message me
Good luck in your job search |

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
I had an application from someone for a role once where they had written "I have worked in areas of great depravation" instead of "deprivation". Maybe they meant depraved instead of deprived?
They didn't get the job.

I once saw on an application form in the HR "in tray".... to the question 'what ambitions do you have?' ... the applicant had written, 'to have sex with the gorgeous receptionist on duty today!'
That in fact was the GM's daughter!!!
Needless to say, his application got nowhere! |
