Hey gang, we have just moved in to a nice new house with a super private garden I've been thinking about hot tubs and if I want one or not.
Any one have one? How often does it get used ? Any good for naughty fun?
I'm a bit worried that I'll get it , use it for a week and then never use it again. Also are they now perceived as a bit chavvy ?? |

problem i found, to hire one is more than buying a 2nd hand lay z spa, so maybe buy one of those.
i have one and, as soon as i get my arse in gear, i will be putting it up, to use. |

The hot tub itself isnt chavy its the people who are chavy but real chavs hid a hole in the ground and fill it with water to mud wrestle in it. |

We're back looking again, love the idea of running a monthly hot tub social to meet some new people and allow local newbies to meet some new friends, as well as having fun meets. Time for some more research I think! |

We've got an Arctic spa, use it regularly and love it.
Look for a spa that uses Onzone (natural salts) to filter and clean as opposed to chlorine and bromine. Much more economical and doesn't make your skin smell when you get out.
Running costs - minimal on the products, depends how much waters involved with regards electricity bill for heating and pumps. |

I had a spa bath with jets/bubbles... I used it a couple of times then got sick of cleaning it.. had to run the jets for 15 mins after every use with cold water and cleaning stuff. It got too tiring so I gave up with it xD it still works as a normal bath though |

Weve got a laz e spa and we use it all the time. Because its inflatable its like a giant bubbly soft bed to play in. Nothing like soaking in bubbles witha gin and tonic and it doesnt need much cleaning either |

mind me asking how much they are to run? I take it they are expensive? I am thinking of getting the whirlpool kind.
Or does anybody else know the running costs?
Thanks |

"we have friends who have one - summer is looking hopeful "
LOL..... yes we have one and use it as often as we can when we have the time...lovely and relaxing. Its Ok for some fun but can be a bit drying on the natural lubricants if you see what we mean.
Costs about £1 per day to run but does depend on how much you have it on obviously. Some keep it on all the time so its ready when you are which may make more sense that heating it up each time which takes time.
We use a product called Aquafinesse which doesnt irritate skin/eyes etc and you dont need to use testing strips...costs a bit more but far easier.
Always keep your filters clean(buy a spare) and make sure that when you change them(weekly if using it alot) then you clean them as per instructions.....keeps the water tip top.
We empty and clean the whole tub about once every 3-4 months depending on usage.
We built an eclosure round ours ...with roof but open at the front so we can see the garden and surroundings(live out in the sticks!!)The most costly bit was getting the electricity to it ....some you can plug into a socket but the more powerful ones need a dedicated 32amp power feed with safety fuse.
hornycpleNW .....we take the hint in the spirit in which it is intended and are working on it!!!! |

Ozone is not natural salts it is a gas created by an ozonator. You still need chlorine or bromine but to a lesser extent.
Ozonators only last a couple of years before they need replacing.
Chemicals and filters do cost real money and are ad much a factor in the running costs as electricity.
To the OP. We have had hot tubs for ten years and my advice/suggestions would be:
Locate it as near to the house as possible. Preferably no more than a couple of steps because trailing down the end of the garden in your dressing gown sounds gets tiresome.
Buy a hot tub with an ozonator and use a good water conditioner. Get used to the fact that you will have to check your water weekly and balance the water.
If you are a sensual couple who enjoy each others company a hot tub is a great way to get "you time." no iPad, no TV, no distractions - just the two of you naked and connected.
Most people who get bored with hot tubs do not have the motivation to use it and being together talking, planning and reminiscing is a great way to relax together. As we have not been without a hit tub for so long, I don't know the actual running costs as it all comes out in one direct debit with all other energy use. I spend around £100 every three or four months on a combination of chemicals and occasional new filters. I can't even guess at electricity use but obviously it uses some.

"Find sex in a hot tub very tantric."
Sex in a hot tub is going to up your chances of getting BV or thrush. If the woman is naturally sensitive to BV or thrush then an injection of bromine or chlorine doused water will play mayhem with the natural balances in the vagina. |

Thanks for heads up on gynotechnics. Never had any issues personally b4, nor the lady I knew with a hot tub. Just saying, I found it almost impossible to achieve an orgasm in a hot tub. So loved spending time in them |

Id be bothered by the electricity heating cost and dont have solar panels to help. Do like using them and my gym is lacking one. Id like, hate the maintenance and heating bill. Probably a no for those on water meters too. |
